As part of Lausanne's International Baccalaureate (IB), the Middle Years Programme, or MYP, is an organizational framework that guides how teachers from 5 th to 10 th grade structure, teach and assess their classes. Each criterion has eight possible achievement levels (1–8), divided into four bands with unique descriptors that teachers use to make judgments about students’ work. Each language acquisition objective corresponds to one of four equally weighted assessment criteria.
