Ota Art Co.,Ltd. Picasso's first Dove of Peace, chosen as the emblem for the First International Peace Conference in Paris in 1949, was a traditional, realistic picture of a pigeon which had been given to him by his great friend and rival, the French artist Henri Matisse. Dove Of Peace by Pablo Picasso, Framed Art, Size: 9.63 x 11.62 x 0.6 inch, Color Brown Picasso was approached by French poet, Louis Aragon, to create this illustration as a global symbol of peace. Using the bird as his model, Picasso created his renowned lithograph, Dove (1949), which has since become an enduring international symbol of peace. In January 1949, Pablo Picasso with a gift: a snow white Milanese pigeon. A reproduction of Dove was used as the poster for the 1949 Paris Peace Congress, which Picasso himself attended.
