I think that poster says a lot. And the early scenes of young Charlie bonding with Jess are truly adorable. Charlie's log ride was made on the 1923 Broughton Flume, the last operating log flume in the United States. The highlight of the film is a scene where Charlie rides a log down a log flume.
Being the only functioning log flume, Broughton Flume had become a popular tourist attraction and even appeared in a couple of television shows such as “Lassie” and in a Walt Disney film, “Charlie the Lonesome Cougar.” Sections of the old flume can still be seen today. Charlie the Lonesome Cougar is currently available on DVD, where it is presented in fullscreen. In 1967, a Disney film called Charlie the Lonesome Cougar, showed the big cat riding a log on the flume.
