The American bumblebee is one of the most endangered bees in Canada. The bumblebee cichlids are originally found in Lake Malawi around the areas of Nkata Bay, Likoma, Mbenji, and West Reef. They are listed as Least Concern on the IUCN Red List. A bumblebee (or bumble bee, bumble-bee, or humble-bee) is any of over 250 species in the genus Bombus, part of Apidae, one of the bee families. Habitat loss and degradation: ... Pathogens and parasites may pose a threat to rusty patched bumble bees, although their prevalence and effects in North American bumble bees are not well understood.
Climate change has shaped bee distributions over the past century. There are some masterpieces worth saving, and the American Bumble Bee (Bombus pensylvanicus) is one of them.

Bumble bees belong to the insect family Hymenoptera, which includes the bees, ants, wasps and sawflies. A recent study discovered that the Canadian population of the bumblebee species has reached the point of imminent local extinction. There are no major threats to the species due to which they are widely found throughout Lake Malawi. Bumblebees are large, hairy bees and are close relatives of the well-known honeybee. There are over 40 recorded species of bumble bees in Canada, widely distributed across all corners of the country.
Because of its specific grassland habitat requirements its population is in rapid decline in parts of its historic range. Alarmingly, recent work by the Xerces Society in concert with IUCN Bumble Bee Specialist Group, indicates that some species have experienced rapid and dramatic declines more than others. Most species of bumblebee live in colonies, but their colonies are much smaller than the honey bees or wasps who can have up to several thousand individuals, the bumblebee colony will only consist of around 50 – 150 individuals.
Compared to other species of bumblebee, American bumblebees in Canada in recent years have decreased in abundance by 89%, a new study found.
Canadian researchers warned that the once-common and vital pollinators are teetering on the brink of extinction. The scientists found that over the 110 years that records have been kept, bumblebees had lost about 185 miles (300 km) of their habitat range from the southern edge of their range in Europe and North America.
Pesticides: The rusty patched bumble bee may be vulnerable to pesticides used across its range.
